Born in Russia in 1887, Marc Chagall ranks among the great founding masters of modern art. He also occupies a preeminent place in the history of original prints. His 1,050 lithographs created over a 35 year period, for the most part were printed in small editions of 50, each filled with his life affirming spirit and a marriage of his renowned imagery—lovers, floating angels, flowers, enchantment.
We are also happy to offer his "Four Seasons" lithograph, created on the occasion of the dedication of a monumental mosaic for the city of Chicago. Sparing neither time nor effort, they were, as always, printed at Mourlot in Paris. Unsigned and in a large edition, they are a great value in today's art market, |
